The seminar aims at the strengthening of students’ personality through the development of emotional intelligence, a necessary supply for the future personal and professional advancement.

This course is experiential and aims at the empowerment of adolescents’ personality by developing self-esteem and their self-confidence. The content of the seminar will have the following structure:

Description:
It is a psycho-educational group aimed at high school students, based on cognitive-behavioral model. Developed by the Clarke & Lewinsohn and adapted for adolescents.
Aim:
This group aims to promote the psychosocial development of students through learning and practicing social and emotional skills, and adopt functional and effective modes of managing stressful situations. Based on the premise that educating teenagers on new mechanisms of handling difficulties, and enhancing their problem-solving skills, equipped with tools against display problems and emotional disorders.
At the end of the program students will have acquired tools so they can encounter stressful situations and will have learned ways to challenge negative thoughts, thus strengthening themselves against psychological difficulties.

Goals of seminar:
Τhe seminar will broaden youngsters’ understanding of why bullying occurs and will teach and train them to respond to bullying effectively and non-aggressively.
Description:
Bullying has become a widespread phenomenon in schools. Whilst schools are becoming increasingly aware of the occurrence of bullying and are beginning to take action sensitively and constructively, bullying continues to adversely affect many youngsters’ lives (e.g. by performing poorly academically, by suffering from mental health disorders like depression and anxiety, by resulting in school refusal, by adversely affecting self-esteem etc.) This course of seminars will enable youngsters who have been or are being bullied to understand why they are being bullied and will give them the thinking and practical tools to (a) withstand the effects of the bullying emotionally and psychologically and (b) respond to the incidence of bullying appropriately and effectively.
At the end of the seminars, youngsters will feel more confident in managing any bullying incidents.

Τhe course will give youngsters an understanding of what anxiety is, how it affects people and it will teach youngsters how to manage anxiety effectively.
Description:
These seminars aim to give youngsters an understanding of what anxiety is and how it affects people (in terms of bodily reactions, negative and destructive thinking as well as dysfunctional behaviours). During the course, the participants will also learn (a) that we can all manage anxiety given the appropriate tools and (b) how to use practical anxiety management strategies so that anxiety and stress are diminished.
At the end of the seminars, the youngsters will feel empowered to manage their anxiety effectively.
Duration: Series of 6 sessions
Participants: youngsters (11-13year olds &/or 14-16 year olds)

The seminar will give youngsters (a) an age-appropriate understanding of the nature of self-confidence & self-esteem and (b) tools to improve self-confidence.
Description:
This course of seminars will explore the nature of confidence and self-esteem & the reasons why one may not feel confident in managing situations and feelings (e.g. lack of assertiveness skills, poor social skills and/or social anxiety, poor communication skills, difficulty forming interpersonal relationships etc.) Through the introduction of practical strategies, participants will be taught and shown ways in which they can learn to think and behave more confidently.
At the end of the course, the youngsters will feel empowered to manage challenging situations with improved confidence.
Participants: children (9-11 year olds) & teenagers (12-15 year olds)/(16-18 year olds)
